DENIAL & CONFUSION

There is clearly no debate that climate change and global warming is real and a threat to the future of life on this planet.

There is, however, still evidence of confusion, denial, limited information, and misinformation fueled by vested interests that present the appearance of truth, and suggest there is still scientific debate.  

How is the lay person to know? Learn and look at the big picture and remember where the biggest profits lay.

On a more personal level, denial is also a very strong human emotional reaction to something so horrific as the possibility of mass extinction. It is horrifying and difficult to acknowledge that some powers would knowingly continue to promote mass action and behaviours that cause harm to the common man and as yet unborn.  
                                  
But it's nothing new.

What matters is that the rest of us acknowledge what is painfully true, so that we can all start working on change as soon as possible. Learn more, trace sources, and empower your legislators to make positive, real changes, not tradeoffs or "paper" solutions that don't actually reduce overall real, physical green house gas (GHG) emissions.

Get active at a local level:

• lobby for transit
• buy locally grown food
• plant a garden
• eat less meat
• recycle, reuse
• shop for need rather than impulse
• reduce consumption and endless entertainment
• pull out your bicycle
• take shorter showers
• throw on a sweater not the furnace
• turn off the lights, computer, tv, speakers when not in use
• teach your children
• Create, nuture, renew, do no harm

"The Great Global Warming Swindle" may enable denial on the part of many. Click here to download and view a correcting presentation by Chris Merchant of the University of Edinburgh, School of Geosciences.  It is an excellent debunking of this "documentary".
