ABOUT CUT CARBON NOW
We understood,
the window of time to establish a different path for mankind is very short,
therefore, time engaged in confusion is time poorly spent.
In four months during the spring of 2007, a number of people in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, Canada came together and gave their time and effort to meet, brainstorm, exchange ideas, opinions and provide moral support to one another.
Most importantly, such discussion and the ideas thereof, naturally went back with participants to their own social groups, institutions and families. Many activities were done under the auspices of Cut Carbon Now and using the"Cut carbon now!" message.
The common thread that enabled and drove this grassroots democratic and responsible activity, was a clearly envisioned understanding of the impacts of global warming, and a genuinely altruistic, yet practical, concern for the welfare of our children, their children's children, and humanity.
A key trait shared by some exceptional and varied citizens is the realization that we, as you, may exercise our personal responsibility to learn and act. These "exceptional" everyday people are among the first to take responsibility, to take action, to lead the way, and provide an example of What YOU can do.
Local public awareness was raised through various activities promoted and coordinated under the auspices of CutCarbonNow.com:
- Numerous Public and Private Educational Talks volunteered by local scientific educator.
- The Collection of Petition Signatures both hard copy and online
- Earth Day Mall Booth
- Increased local awareness through media clips or articles
- Public Forum on Light Rail and Climate Change organized voluntarily by concerned local citizen
- Booth at local farm market organized voluntarily by concerned citizen
- The establishment of this facilitative and educational website and forum.
We hope the information on this site assists you in understanding and making changes of your own.
